Child Therapy
As a parent, it can be hard to know when your child’s behavior is just a part of growing up or a sign of a bigger issue.
In therapy, we will evaluate social, emotional, and behavioral disorders that hinder full and healthy development and help with:
-
Sadness, Anger, Fear.
-
Anxiety, depression, stress.
-
Physical disorders.
-
Picky Eaters - Eating disorders.
-
Social Difficulties.
-
Learning Difficulties.
-
Focus and Concentration.
-
Family Challenges.
-
Intolerance and Aggressiveness.
-
Coping after witnessing or experiencing a traumatic event.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The first session is always with the parents or a responsible adult. At this first meeting, I will evaluate the concerns and depending on the needs, move to the next step with a child or family therapy or what may be recommended for your child or/and family.
If we decide to move forward, there will be around 5-6 sessions only with the child and a session with the parents or responsible to give feedback and a review about the therapeutic process. In need of more attention, we will keep this routine till we end up with therapy.
In therapy, play is the child's language and toys are their words so the sessions will take place in a playful environment as they will be able to build trust and consistency gradually in each session.
